A real day off...

Well, I had today off work, and I really felt like I managed to relax and enjoy myself.

I was at a good early time today (which always leads to a more productive day for me), and I went up to SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology...for my non-Albertan friends and Albertan friends who might have been living in a hole all their lives and never heard of SAIT). I was dropping off a application for a course I'm hoping to be attending in the fall (autumn for my friends in the land of Oz...although not the Australian autumn...it'd be your spring...).

After doing that I came home and my parents and I packed a lunch and headed off to Kananaskis (west of Calgary, but further south than Canmore and Banff - one of the sites used during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games) for the day. We went into one of the hotels there. Drove along the highway through the mountains...stopped several times to take pictures...and just had a relaxing day out.

I did dinner tonight. I made pasta...very easy, but very enjoyable.

Yes, today has been very good.

Well, enjoy the pictures...they don't all fit on a page, so you have to click on "April 2006" under the "Archives" heading on the right hand side of this page to see them all. So yes, enjoy.

This is the view of a valley (that I took lots of pictures of) from the top of a ridge behind a hotel in K-Country. There's a colf course down there...probably wonderful to play...if only for the view... Posted by Picasa

Spring is in the air...and that means it is time for HOCKEY!!

Yes, that's right, it's playoff time (for those who are a little less cultured and therefore didn't already know that). I cheer for two teams in the NHL, one in the West and one in East. Both teams have easily advanced to the playoffs for round one. Calgary will be playing the Ducks and Ottawa is playing the defending "Stanley Cup Champions" from Tampa Bay. Calgary is a big time hockey town, and so we expect business at work to decline for the next while, as Calgary works its way to the finals and takes the Cup.

Spring also means cycling time. I've been out a couple times now. I'm going to start taking my camera along and getting some pictures posted.

I bought myself a new computer last week, which I am very happy with. DVD burner, remote controlled media centre, faster processor, more RAM, bigger hard driver...not a bad price either. Now I just have to find a buyer for my old computer...

Anyways, a quick update to keep my father happy before he starts hounding me again.

Take care all!!

Okay, so it has been a month since I last posted...so I thought I ought to bring things up to speed.

Since my last post I have changed jobs. I am now working back in retail. This time I am working for Leons Furniture. For my non-Canadian friends (and Canadian friends who don't know what I'm talking about), Leons is a large furniture store chain in Canada. They use a showroom setup with a large warehouse attached. I work in the front office, where all the paper work for sales takes place. Sales people actually do the selling, we just put through payments, setup purchase financing and other clerical duties. It isn't a great job, and the pay certainly isn't great, but I'm enjoying it far more than my last job...at least until I figure out what I'm doing next year.

I'm still working towards the June 30-July 2 weekend!! Things are starting to pick up a bit in my areas of responsibility. I still don't have my drama team, but registrations are coming in more now, and I've also been asked to start putting together the multimedia presentation for the weekend. That will be a fairly big task...I'm looking forward to working on that though.

Hmm...not sure what else to include. I'm mostly posting because my dad's been bugging me to get something up...but I don't know what else to write.

Well, I'll leave it there for now...until I have something else.

Everyone, have a wonderful Palm Sunday, a blessed Holy Week and a very happy Easter!!
