The final rehersal before our recording. Posted by Picasa

Okay, so here's a bunch of pics down above and below. I love taking pictures and because my camera is so portable I've started taking it just about everywhere now.

Tomorrow and Saturday our church brass band is recording a CD, so I've got a pic of our final rehersal on here. We're recording a Christmas CD of all things. I wasn't in the band before Christmas, but those who were have now been playing Christmas music since November. I've never been involved in a recording before, so this'll be a new experience for me.

Last week I had a bunch of my pictures from Australia and California developed. 590 in all...although I did get a couple of doubles for Alicia, so there were a total of 592 pictures that I had printed. I had to buy three new photo albums to put them all in. And when I uploaded them to the website they got alphbetised, so then I had to go through and organise them all in chronological order, which to a bit. The next step will be to write in discriptions...I'm going to wait to do that for now.

Well, I have decided not to go to Training College in September. I'm just not ready for that yet. I haven't completely decided what I'm going to do with the next year yet. I'm considering a couple of things. I've also changed my work schedule to cut back my hours. I'm now only working three nights a week, although I should still get somewhere between 36 and 40 hours a week. I'm searching for a new job, but no luck yet. I really don't enjoy my job, and I'm trying to find something that might be a bit more enjoyable.

Last night I completely rearranged my room. It took about 4 hours. My room is fairly small, although it is probably close to the same size as my parents. We just have small rooms in this house. So, this is the first time I've actually moved all the furniture in my room around in the 5 1/2 years I've lived in it. I usually move things around several times during the time we live in a house...but I don't have a lot of options here.

Oh, I've got to make a recommendation!! Watch "Rent" if you haven't yet...and get the soundrack!!! Fantastic musical!! An interesting, very human story, with fantastic music!! My new favourite musical!! Definately beats out all others!! And I do like musicals a great deal, it's not the first I've seen. Although I've still yet to see any done live :( (I should mention that some discression about viewer age is needed on this one)

I also saw Kingdom of Heaven recently...not a musical...not even close. Great movie!! Interesting potrail of the Christian crusaders. Some of them even got the Biblical message of love and grace right!! Imagine that God doesn't actually want us killing everyone who doesn't believe what we belive...

I am on a team that is planning the children's program for a Salvation Army event in Red Deer, Alberta on June 30 - July 2, and I am getting super pumped about that!! Sure my responsibilities don't sound over exciting, but I am loving it!! I am putting together a drama team for the weekend...although I won't be in it. One of my friends from Ontario is flying in to be part of that. I'm also organising the onsite registration for the children. I thoroughly enjoy organising that sort of thing and I am loving the logistical challenge. I'm also helping out by doing bits of reseach here and there. We're using the God Rock's materials put out by a Canadian group. The idea is that the stories from the Bible are told by rocks that were involved. So, we're doing the Ten Commandments (titled "God gave me rules, so I'm responsible...") and the story is told by the stones that God inscribed the Ten Commandments on (the second time). It's really cool. We've also got the original God Rock's rock band coming out. And for organising the kids into smaller groups we're using "tribes" named after the 12 tribes of Israel (no we aren't bothering with the half-tribe). So I get to research the traditional symbols and colours of the tribes and things like that. Then I pass that off to the craft coordinator. It's all very cool. I'm super pumped...and there are still months to go until the event!!!

The past few days have been really nice weather-wise. It's been warm and the sun has shown up a fair bit, but today the snow is falling once again. It's not too cold though, which makes it a little nicer. Not a fan of snow though...and after nine months of Australian/Californian weather, I'm finding I'm not particularly enjoying the colder weather either.

Well, I suppose that I could continue to ramble on for quite a bit longer, but I should do other things with my day since I'm up.

Take care all!!

C-Train (light rail) platform in the Northeast of Calgary near where I work. On a clear day the Calgary skyline would be easily visible in this picture, but we got yet more snow this morning. Posted by Picasa
